Cave City, Ar - April 2025

Matthew 9:37-38
Matthew 9:37-38

As of March 14-15, 2025, there was a tornado outbreak across Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Eight Days of Hope deployed to two different towns-Tylertown, MS and Cave City, AR. We decided to go to Cave City as we were going to leave a few days early for South Dakota for a safehouse.

Ryan was up in the lift the whole week and had a blast cutting down trees. He ran with a small crew of about 5 people, and some were brand new volunteers. Each of them had such a good time and voiced that they would want to come back. A mother and daughter team were first time volunteers and went out with Ryan. They were so impressed that the daughter came back one extra day to serve again because she enjoyed it that much!

Sarah was kind of all over the place. She ran the mini skid for one day then she was in the office for three days, learning how the office paperwork works. For the last two days, Sarah was out in the field working on a crew as a yellow cutter. The office was not physically demanding, but it was mentally demanding, especially when you are learning how everything works. When one works in the office, you are always being asked questions and are constantly making things flow as smoothly as possible. Working with the crew was physically demanding; however, it left your heart full knowing you were able to physically help the homeowners restart after the tornado.
